IVA: Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy

Between 2014 and 2016 The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), in collaboration with 45 companies, carried out the project “Resource-efficient business models – increased competitiveness”. The project revealed many possibilities and business opportunities to make the Swedish economy more resource efficient.

This work continued as a new project 2018-2020 mainly following the industry categories and the respective business opportunities that emerged as a result of the project mentioned above. The new project was divided into five sub-projects; physical venues, mobility, textiles, food and plastics. Axfoundation was part of the food and plastic group, and contributed with experiences and perspectives.

The goal of this project was to create a platform for resource efficiency and circular economy. Through this initiative it is possible to draw insights on Sweden’s resource-related choices within politics, research and business, and collaborate jointly towards resource efficiency. In January 2020, each sub-project presented its reports (available in Swedish).
