Patrik Isacsson
At Torsåker Farm, Axfoundation’s test farm and development center, Patrik leads the hands-on innovation efforts within the Future Materials program. As a materials developer, he oversees the daily operations of Axfoundation’s testing activities, where new bio-based solutions are explored, developed, and tested in real-world environments. Patrik is also engaged in the ongoing development of Torsåker Farm as a hub for innovation and sustainable transformation.
Patrik holds a master’s degree in forestry from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). During his time as an industrial PhD student at Linköping University, in collaboration with Ahlstrom, he conducted research on wood-based electrode materials and how these can be produced using paper machines – a multidisciplinary effort at the intersection of chemistry, electronics, and materials science. Alongside his doctoral studies, Patrik also worked on material and product development at Ahlstrom, both at the Billingsfors mill in Dalsland and at the company’s central R&D center outside Lyon, France (primarily remotely).
In addition, he has been involved in smaller-scale development work with various startups focused on bio-based material solutions. Patrik brings valuable experience from working at the intersection of industry, academia, and startups – where researchers and practitioners collaborate within the innovation system.
