Are there simple ways to guide customers towards more antibiotic-smart choices when it comes to purchasing foods like meat, fish, eggs and dairy? Is it possible to speed up the transition towards the responsible use of antibiotics in food production<\/a> through a consumer-driven demand for better products? A brand new Swedish consumer study<\/a> from Axfoundation, Coop and the Stockholm School of Economics has looked into just this. The results show that the issue of antibiotics is too complex to convey to customers via a short text at the time of purchase. Efforts to increase customers knowledge ahead of a purchase, however, could have significantly more positive effects.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOur tests show that a description of responsible antibiotic use (in food production) for consumers is not the simple solution as many perhaps had hoped for.
