IP Standard for Working Conditions

2016-10-30

On October 25 a Swedish certification for decent working conditions within crop and animal production was launched. The standard has been developed in a collaboration between industry players following an initiative from Martin & Servera, Axfood and Axfoundation.

During the launch Annika Grebe lead a discussion with representatives from Axfood and Axfoundation, among others.

The story behind the certification was the reporting about exploited migrant workers on Swedish farms. The new standard—IP Sigill Arbetsvillkor — will regulate human rights and labor issues, but it is also about the rules of the game and the competition within the industry.
